BAND OF THE DAY: THEE NOW SOUND

To quote Jack Endino from the recent underground documentary "Such Hawks Such Hounds", the 'grunge' and 'stoner rock' tags that emerged in the 1990s are just 70s hard rock and heavy metal continued, just with a punk rock aesthetic. Since both those labels have become quite distasteful for a lot of people involved in the music these days, let's just call Thee Now Sound a heavy rock band out of Zanesville, Ohio.  Definitely in the vein of Mudhoney and 'Wretch'-era Kyuss, the band has been playing out in Columbus and Cleveland and has two EPs up online that have been getting good reviews from places like the Columbus Music Review and AltOhio.com
